StoryFutures Academy is offering senior creatives and world-leading storytellers the opportunity to leap into the exciting and growing world of immersive storytelling and become an intrinsic player in exploring its potential.
Senior movers and shakers in a range of creative roles across film, television and gaming will get the chance to take up paid placements on ground breaking immersive projects with leading companies, such as REWIND, The Third Floor, Sky VR, Passion Pictures and Punchdrunk. These exciting programme partners are opening their doors to a diverse range of talent to help make the UK the global leader in immersive productions.
Placements will be open to highly skilled professionals who have a real interest in immersive storytelling and technologies, and who have both the strategic influence and the desire to move the industry on. There will be around 12 paid placements over the next three years, with all those taking part sharing their experiences and learning in a number of ways. Our placement programme draws on the National Film and Television School’s status as one of the world’s top film, television and games schools and Royal Holloway’s world-leading research base. Together we’ll offer placements that provide hands on and industry relevant training that is informed by cutting edge research in this dynamic new industry.
Placement programmes include an intensive training boot camp to help get diverse industry professionals up to speed with immersive, enabling them to learn new skills and explore cross overs. We will make open calls for Bootcamps throughout the next three years, with training taking place all over the country to enable professionals from all backgrounds and roles to take part.
Our first boot camp took place in December 2018 at the National Film and Television School with a live production lined up for first placements to start in early 2019.
